Where Creativity
Takes Root.
The Anderson Center for the Arts is East Harris County’s cultural anchor, expanding access to the arts, investing in Black creatives, and building the infrastructure for creativity and community to flourish.
Rooted in faith and grounded in the belief that creativity is one of God’s greatest gifts, we use the transformative power of the arts to preserve culture, create opportunity, and strengthen the place we call home.

About Us
Belonging Through Art
An Incubator for Creativity & Culture We are more than an arts organization; we are an incubator for creativity and culture—a space where art, culture, and enterprise converge.
Nurturing Art. Amplifying Culture. Building Community.
Because we understand artistry to be a divine gift, our mission is to ensure it is nurtured, protected, and shared. Through programs, residencies, and events, we expand access to the arts, build artists’ capacity to amplify Black narratives, and create pathways for cultural preservation and economic opportunity. We are a home for creatives, a stage for diverse voices, and a gathering place where people come together to connect, create, and grow.
Residency Program
six Months. Your Studio. Your Vision.
Your artistry carries purpose and meaning. Your voice has power. The Anderson Center for the Arts A.I.R. (Amplify. Invest. Revitalize.) Residency Program supports emerging and mid-career artists through dedicated 24/7 studio space, professional development, and community engagement, culminating in a public exhibition.
We provide the space so you can focus on what really matters: creating the work that uplifts, transforms, and preserves the people, places, and stories that matter.
