About the Anderson Center for the Arts
The Anderson Center for the Arts is a community-centered cultural anchor in Unincorporated East Harris County, Houston, Texas — a faith-based incubator for creativity where art, culture, and enterprise converge. Founded with the mission to steward the arts to glorify God, uplift people, and transform communities while preserving Black history and culture, the Anderson Center operates as both a platform and an amplifier — rooted in faith, grounded in Black stories, and open to all.
Through our AIR (Amplify. Invest. Revitalize.) artist residency program, community events, exhibitions, and creative placemaking initiatives, we serve as a home for creatives, a stage for diverse voices, and a gathering place where people come together to connect, create, and grow.
